Ben Altarescu is a NY based writer/director/producer and the co-founder of Bows & Arrows. Initially drawn into the world of film at a young age through sports docu-journalism classics like Hoop Dreams, Ben excels at telling stories, whether they’re narrative or documentary, about clandestine worlds and underdog characters in a humanistic style. In 2014, Ben’s short documentary (The Book of Lone Peak) about a Mormon high school basketball team in Utah was the #1 short film on iTunes for several weeks. He has directed commercial and branded content for Armani, The New York Times, Spotify, Reebok, GQ, Condé Nast Traveler, Wired and Bon Appétit. His producing credits include shorts (El Porvenir, Killer, Mutt) and features (Sequoia, Hits) that have played at Sundance, SXSW and Tribeca, among other festivals around the country. He is currently in post-production on his latest short film, a documentary about the most successful high school sports team in NYC history.
